Review: The Demon King, by Cinda Williams Chima

Engaging, but not extraordinary. Much of the plot presented is resolved by the close of the novel, which is nice, and in the end I am curious enough to want to read the second novel, The Exiled Queen, but I don’t think I’ll be running out to get it as soon as possible. Continue reading

Review: Manifest, by Artist Arthur

I feel like the magic/mythology developed here has a lot of potential, the “whodunit” aspect was engaging, and the plots were layered but not confusing. Manifest was an easy read for me, and I can definitely see how it would be entertaining for young adult and teen readers. Continue reading

Review: Harvest Moon, by Krista D. Ball

I very much enjoyed this novella, and it left me wanting more. If not more of Dancing Cat, since her story is told, then more of the Battle Cliffs and Red Valley tribes, more of their ancestors’ interference, more of Ball’s writing. Continue reading
