Erm, ‘speculative fiction’?

Speculative fiction is an umbrella term that covers the spectacular and imaginative genres of fiction, such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, urban fantasy, paranormal, superheroes, alternate history, post-apocalyptic, and apocalyptic. It is quite a broad term, and one people will argue over. Personally, I include magical realism and folktales, though not everyone does.

Wanna know more? The Speculative Literature Foundation (with which I have no affiliation) has more info, as does that ubiquitous repository of knowledge in cyberspace, Wikipedia.
